Lea Michele's Red Carpet Look

Lea Michele was best dressed at last nights 17th Annual SAG Awards, in my opinion!  She hit the red carpet in a Oscar de la Renta blush crepe de chine caviar bead embroidered gown, Sergio Rossi shoes, $1 million worth of Tiffany & Co. jewlrey, and carried a Daniel Swarovski bag.  I love how she added the belt to break up the dress and add some style!  What did you guys think of Lea's red carpet look?

Curly haired gals fear no more

Everyone knows I have some seriously curly hair. I have tried every shampoo/conditioner, leave-in conditioner, serum, styling creme, frizz spray, gel, mousse, and hair spray...BUT fear not I think I have found the answer. Curl Goddess line of hair products by mark (an extension of Avon). The mark Curl Goddess Styling Cream With Conditioning Sunflower keeps my curls in-tact and bouncy all day. I follow a very simple hair routine massaging only a small amount of the styling cream on wet hair followed by a handful of mousse. That's it! Check out the mark site...there is something for everyone mark Shop

Spring > Snow

It is not yet February and we've gotten like 70 feet of snow with more to come! Don't get me wrong all New Englanders hope for a "White Christmas," but Christmas is over and I am over the snow. It literally made me delirious and all I could think of was sunny skies and tank tops. Each and every morning I put on my boots longing for the days I can slip on my jeans, a basic white tank and a HOT pair of new shoes. These will undoubtedly be my first Spring purchase....
Michael Kors "Nora" Wedges- $150
Aren't they to die for??? I instantly fell in love. I am a big Michael Kors fan, but I must say he has out done himself with these beauties.

Is it Spring yet!?

With another Northeastern heading our way next week, I can't help but fantasize about Spring; the warmer weather and a wardrobe that doesn't consist of black, grey, and beige. I just saw a picture of Jessica Alba shopping in a Paris that inspired me to create a look that has Winter-staples but also gives a glimpse of Spring.

Uggs don't quite cut it...

This week I've had to unfortunately commute on public transportation after having car problems. This dilemma has made me realize that I have not been prepared for the elements. Most importantly, in the footwear department. Uggs are warm and comfy when you go from your car to a heated building but when you're standing on a train platform, they just don't cut it. Therefore, I have been on the hunt for footwear that is warm and functional and I think I found the right pair thanks to a website called MyShoes. This site lets you filter through categories such as price, style and features to find you the perfect match; it's like eHarmony but for your feet!

Check out the pair of snow boots that they choose for me! They're about as cute as a snow boot can get but they definitely look functional and warm.

I am currently obsessed with ....

While we are on the topic of jackets I thought I would share a current obsession that I am having with these great open draped front leather jackets that Halle Berry and Zoe Saldana have been wearing recently.  I have only found one similar jacket from Forever 21 for a reasonable price.  Has anybody seen these out there for a reasonable price!?
Zoe Saldana - Her jacket is called "Magus" and is by Roland Mouret

Halle Berry - love this jacket!!

Sweater, Jacket or Coat? There's an app for that....swackett

Snow may be in the next 4 day forecast, but once spring rolls around what to wear out the door becomes more and more difficult. Problem solved! Swackett is the app for you. I know on a spring morning when the sun is shinning I am likely to walk out of the door with just a light cardigan until I get outside and realize its still 45 degrees! If I had the app I would have known a light jacket would have been a better option.

The InStyler Rotating Iron

The InStyler Rotating Iron is the perfect blend of a straightener/curling iron.  It has a rotating barrel that helps to curl the ends of your hair under as it straightens!  You may have seen the infomercial for the new InStyler Rotating Iron or may have seen it in stores.  I got mine about a month ago and it works pretty well!  Its great if you want to add some body to your hair as opposed to having stick straight hair!  The InStyler is also better for your hair than most other straighteners because it uses less heat than other straighteners!  The InStyler is available at Bed Bath and Beyond (don't forget your coupon!) and Brookstone.  For more info check out the InStyler website!  http://www.getinstyler.com/howitworks.html - the website offers a  14 day trial as a limited time offer for only $14.99!

CrossFit Junkies live in Lululemon

You may know Lululemon makes technical athletic apparel and could recognize their logo anywhere , but you may not know what CrossFit is. CrossFit is a principal strength and conditioning program for serious athletes worldwide. It is best known in the military and martial arts worlds, but the CrossFit craze has been sweeping our nation. I am a CrossFit junkie myself working out in Stamford's elite CrossFit 'box' HYBRID ATHLETICS. I am also proud to announce I made my first Lululemon purchase just a couple of weeks ago with the oh-so famous Groove Pant. Although the brand is a bit pricey, the products are well worth it. I have spoken to people who are still wearing the Lululemon athletic apparel they purchased years ago. I may only own one piece of this treasured collection, but I could not look two feet in any direction at the latest CrossFit/Strongman competition at my gym without seeing someone wearing something Lululemon...even the guys! Here is a link to the site Lululemon.com and here is a sample CrossFit WOD (workout of the day) from Hybrid on Tuesday: 1 k row, 50 burpees, 50 over-head presses.

These are the super fabulous Groove Pant-, comes in a wide variety of hip designs: $98

One-shoulder gowns were the big winners at this year's Golden Globes

Although extremely partial to one-shoulder gowns, cocktail dresses, and tops I  was excited to see I am not alone. Last night's red carpet was full of stars flaunting their collar bone including Lea Michele, Megan Fox,  and Julia Stiles just to name a few. Unlike the classic strapless gown, one-shoulder pieces allow designers to add a extra bunch of color or embellishment without taking away from the body that wears it. In my opinion Mila Kunis did it best. Not only is the dress a 10, but the jewel toned jade color was absolutely stunning against Mila's dark hair. Love love love....

If you want the look for less check out LuLus.com. Here is LuLu's Fire and Ice Turquoise One Shoulder Dress that would wow any crowd for $43!!!!

From the gym to ... just about anywhere!

Who wants to look like the hot sweaty mess that walked right off of the treadmill and into the grocery store? I certainly do not.  Thankfully, there are ways to make our gym attire look more errands appropriate without looking like you just ran a marathon or rolled out of bed.  Nicole Richie has mastered this gym to just about anywhere look.  It’s easiest to achieve if you start with your favorite pair of black workout spandex and tank top then you can layer up to make yourself feel more glamorous on your post gym adventures.   A great jacket and thick scarf will take care of hiding that beauty of a gym shirt and a beanie will take care of that post gym sweaty, greasy hair that we all love so much.  Throw on some oversized shades because seriously, who wears makeup to the gym, grab your favorite purse and you’re good to go!  Check out how to get Nicole Richie’s chique after gym look for less below!

Nike for work and for play

I was doing a little research on my next pair of Nike's when a friend asked me if I had heard Cole Haan started using Nike air technology in one of their shoe lines. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it, but IT'S TRUE! Here's the link to the line: Cole Haan. There is a wide selection for both men and women; boots, ballets, and heels for the ladies and boots, loafers, oxfords and mocs the gentlemen. I read a couple reviews just to see what the buzz is and looks like these shoes are here to stay. "Nike Air Cole Haan Shoes are Divine." Thanks for the heads up T!!!!!
Although a little pricey, the Mariela Air OT Pumps are my fav!

Do you go Gaga over great nail polish?

Lets face it, not everyone can pull off wearing outfits like Lady Gaga.  You can however, get nails like Gaga!  Lady Gaga graced the cover of Vanity Fair back in September 2010 wearing nothing but nail polish and a diamond necklace.  The nail polish she is wearing on the cover was created by Deborah Lippmann, celebrity manicurist and owner of her own line of outstanding nail polishes, which is simply titled, Deborah Lippmann.  The color she is wearing is called Waking up in Vegas.  The top seller is described as a putty-liscious gray and can be yours for $16 dollars!  Trust me, its well worth the price!  I own some of Deborah's nail polishes and believe me when I tell you the color not only dries faster than any other nail polish I have used but it also LASTS!  For all you die-hard Gaga fans out there Deborah also created another nail lacquer inspired by Gaga.  It is called Bad Romance and is described as a blackened fuschia with glitter!  Head over to lippmanncollection.com to get nails like Lady Gaga or to check out some of Deborah's other celebrity inspired shades!

Rue La La-- a little something for everyone-- but has anyone ever ordered anything?

If you haven't heard of Rue La La it is "an exclusive, invitation-only online destination where Members discover premier-brand, private sale Boutiques, each open for just a brief window of time. Our focus is a well-edited collection of sought-after offerings from the best brand names in the world - combined with helpful service."
I signed up as a Rue La La member through an invitation from a friend almost a year ago. I have logged in to check out the deals almost everyday since BUT I have NEVER actually ordered anything. There have been plenty of times I had something to my cart with the intention of buying it and two hours later change my mind and the boutique eventually closes.  Does this type of online boutique site sound like something you would be interested in? Something you would be interested in enough to order from?

Here's the link, check it out: RueLaLa.com
